Fast, easy-to-use and well-designed web experiences are at the heart of Tegus’s products. We’re looking for an experienced frontend developer to help us build better products faster than ever.
Until now, Tegus has exclusively hired generalist software developers for our product teams. While that’s gotten us this far, we think the right additions will take us from good to great. With this role we’re looking for a true specialist — someone who is passionate, focused on frontend web development and excited to be the voice of frontend excellence at a fast-growing company.
Responsibilities
- Create beautiful, efficient and useful products. You’ll work across a group of development teams and will spend about half of your time in day-to-day product development.
- Architect and build component libraries and development tools. When not working directly on product development, you’ll extend our component library and design system, with an eye towards the long-term productivity of the entire team.
- Partner closely with our design team. You’ll work closely with our product design team to ensure both design and engineering have the tools they need to bring high-quality products to life quickly.
- Teach, mentor and learn. You’ll be responsible not just for writing code, but for helping the entire team do better work through teaching and mentoring other engineers.
About You
- You’re user-focused and love building great products. We’re looking for someone with high standards, who can set the bar for excellence in product development.
- You have a team-first mentality and work collaboratively. This role is as much about accelerating the team around you as it is about getting things done yourself.
- You think in terms of tools and systems. You’ll be responsible for critical parts of our development toolchain and will constantly be thinking about how to improve them.
Qualifications
- Significant experience and success as a web developer, including experience with a functional-reactive framework such as React, Vue or Svelte. We use Typescript, Vue and GraphQL, but don’t require experience with those specific technologies.
- Familiarity with common design tools such as Figma and Storybook is a plus.
Benefits & Perks
- Remote-friendly - work wherever you're most productive.
- Comprehensive medical and dental plans.
- 401(k) plan with an employer match.
- Paid parental leave for all parents.
- All employees are granted equity through our Restricted Stock Units (RSU) Program.
- Unlimited paid vacation, flexible work hours, and 10 observed paid holidays per year.
- Employer funded long-term disability.
- Fantastic culture with regular virtual company-wide events, including cooking classes, yoga, meditation and more.
- Generous employee referral bonus program.
- The opportunity to attend peer-nominated quarterly DEI events.
- Working for a thriving, performance-based company that values promoting from within, career advancement and transparency.
- The option to work from a state of the art office in the heart of Chicago’s Loop featuring standing desks, mother rooms, gender neutral bathrooms, subsidized gym access, and full amenity floor.
- Commuter benefits & a fully stocked kitchen with rotating snacks and beverages.
