What You Will Do
Our team is tasked with building security into the engineering processes so that software our
developers release is secure. We solve new and interesting application security issues at scale.
We are searching for a problem solver with a passion for application security compliance and
someone who thrives working in a technical role with a high degree of independence.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for driving security best practices across the Ascension Technologies
organization and to software development teams - Ensure a HIPAA compliant implementation of features in web applications, APIs, and
mobile development. - Manage and track applications on behalf of security through the software development
lifecycle - A deep understanding of the OWASP Top 10 and the ability to communicate findings to
development and leadership. - Collaborate on existing policies and guidelines and assist on the creation of new
documentation relative to secure software development and HIPAA compliance. - Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership
Experience
- Application Security controls or similar experience.
- An understanding of HIPAA regulation.
- 3-5 years in a security focused role.
- Software development experience and an understanding of common programming
languages. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Work Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in a security focused role
- 2+ years of Software Development Experience preferred
- Experience working in a HIPAA regulated environment strongly desired

- Project and task management
- Organize and lead initiatives
- Ability to communicate about security topics to leadership and developers
What You Will Need
Education:
- High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required.
Work Experience:
- 3 years of experience preferred.
