Job Description:
As a Senior Security Architect, you will be responsible for the overall direction and continuous improvement of the secure software design lifecycle across the entire CAT Digital portfolio of solutions that interfaces with dealers and end customers.
JOB DUTIES:
Key areas of accountability include leading the development of secure architecture solutions for strategic enterprise projects and programs; developing and maintaining security technology roadmaps and application evolution plans; threat modeling; security by design; leading in the evaluation of new technology, processes, information, or integration standards; and guiding the development of the overall information security strategy for CAT Digital.
Responsibilities include the following:

• Lead secure architecture assessment and design for infrastructure domains that provide core capabilities.
• Initiate and deliver technology evaluation and recommendations.
• Lead secure architecture design and create roadmaps for end-to-end systems.
• Develop and maintain current and planned state security architecture blueprints.
• Lead the efforts for Enterprise Technology and Application Rationalization.
• Ensure projects and security maintains a wide view to support adoption of standards and practices and promote reuse.
• Develop, improve, validate, and use tools to facilitate Enterprise Architecture and partner organization security efforts.
• Lead the secure design and implementation of data classification, data modeling and metadata structures in complex projects.
• Lead the analysis of security technology and market trends to determine their potential impact.
• Assist in the development and alignment of the digital roadmaps with the digital and business strategy.
• Participate in the identification and analysis of enterprise business drivers and requirements that drive the future state architecture.
• Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.

Basic Qualifications:

• This position requires a four-year degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, engineering, information technology, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 10 or more years of a progressive career in information security, software engineering, and/or architecture roles
• AWS architecture and security background
• Deep understanding of DevSecOps concepts and tooling such as software composition analysis, static and dynamic security testing, infrastructure as code, cloud security posture management, and interactive security testing.
• Experience with assessment, development, implementation, optimization, and documentation of a comprehensive and broad set of security technologies and processes (secure software development (Application Security), data protection, cryptography, key management, identity and access management (IAM), network security) within SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud environments.
• Strong demonstrable experience delivering secure architecture for enterprise scale solutions in public cloud and hybrid eco-systems.
• Must have excellent communication skills and be able to deal with sensitive issues, mentor and coach and/or persuade others on new technologies, new applications, or potential solutions.

Top candidates will also have:

• AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP cloud certifications
• Strong understanding of Agile SDLC implementation in public cloud eco-system including environments management, test automation, peer review, CI/CD, resource optimization, etc.
• Strong hands-on development experience in public cloud environment
• AWS development experience with deep exposure to a variety of different services and associated security controls
• Working knowledge of common and industry standard cloud-native/cloud-friendly authentication mechanisms (OAuth, OpenID, etc).
• Open source or public project contributions, presentations, or involvement
• Experience in multiple business processes or organizations and experience in multiple IT disciplines is also beneficial.
