We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to be a key member of the engineering team, helping build our personalized healthcare and financial platform from the ground up!

As a senior software engineer on the team, you will get to solve real world problems that affect all of us and in turn make a huge impact in the healthcare space. You will help create a healthcare and financial wellness platform curated for each person via massive amounts of third party and internal data, and run through complex rules to deliver targeted, proactive health and financial wellness solutions, at scale. If you passionate about shaping API engineering practices and building scalable, performant backend services that can accelerate front end engineers and make it easy to build two-way integrations with partners, we would love to talk to you.

What You Might Do in Your First Year:

• Shape our API engineering practices - build performant, fault tolerant services on AWS utilizing your experience in service decomposition, caching, queueing & communication techniques
• Build GraphQL/REST interfaces for use by mobile and web apps internally or by external partners in their applications
• Contribute to the engineering culture, and mentor other software engineers within the team

About You in the Role:

• Several solid, on-the-ground years of experience building and operating secure APIs (GraphQL, REST), SOA/Microservices using NodeJS or Python, and/or a completed degree in Computer Science or related field
• Building services that naturally instrumented to store data for service logging, performance monitoring, tracing
• Experience writing AWS Lambdas, and/or using Serverless to create Lambdas
• PostgreSQL, NoSQL and distributed task queue Messaging queues (like RabbitMQ, SNS/SQS)
• Experience with Terraform, Jenkins, CircleCI, Ansible, or some other infrastructure automation tool
• Experience building & deploying in containers, like Docker
• Experience building teams of API engineers, helping to establish best practices, and providing technical mentorship
• Experience using SRE techniques to establish patterns of reliability for software
• Excellent communication skills, able to talk to engineers and stakeholders alike
• Experience working in an agile environment, developing MVPs and successfully iterating with evolutionary architectures
