Intelligent Medical Objects (IMO) (Rosemont, IL) seeks a Senior Software Engineer to be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of software applications. Specific duties include: design and author high level quality source code; implement unit and integration tests; review team source code; work within an agile team, solve problems according to principals of scrum development; lead and perform solution analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, and software reliability analysis; lead and participate in application database design and implementation; manage and respond promptly to defect reports; provide assistance to testers and support personnel as needed to determine system problems; assist with the implementation of our solution within client solutions; research and recommend software tools to management; perform current technology assessment on an on-going basis to determine areas of improvement; leverage automation across testing, integration, and deployment activities; work with product owner to break down features into actionable user stories; collaborate with other engineers to ensure that implementations satisfy requirements; takes ownership to proactively anticipate the implications and consequences; and implement creative solutions to technical challenges and embrace out-of-the-box thinking to apply knowledge and learning from various disciplines to create new or improve existing products. Option to work remotely.
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, or a closely related engineering degree, plus 5 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Software Engineering Analyst, Software engineer or similar position. Must have 5 years of experience working with object-oriented design, C#, relational database design, and development on platforms including Oracle or Microsoft SQL server, Microsoft ASP.Net, Microsoft ASP, and Microsoft Visual Studio. Must also have at least 1 year of web-based software development experience. Additionally, specific experience must include: working with agile development incorporating Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and utilizing GIT and Jenkins technologies; working with best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations; working with at least one of the following general-purpose programming languages: C#, JavaScript, Angular 2 or 4, Typescript, ASP.NET, Java, C++, Python, or similar; writing simple queries; working with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or similar; working with cloud technologies; and working with software construction and principles.
