DESCRIPTION

 

Responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, supporting, and refining applications for the Nielsen Connect Platform: Develop highly complex software code, which is maintainable, and easy to use. Develop and execute application test plans, analyze test results, and make appropriate revisions to ensure the applications function as specified. Create working prototypes. Create build and deployment process scripts. Work closely with architects/designers to design and implement reusable software solutions. Develop solutions that incorporate data ETL (extract transform load) and statistical models, using specifications provided by Product Leadership. Serve as an expert liaison between the Product Leadership and other departments and development resources. Analyze data, including common error patterns, trend breaks, and data quality check thresholds. Work with the technical project manager to ensure that the project plan is on track by advising on risks and quality. Tools and technologies used include: Python, Shell Scripting, Netezza, IBM Datastage, Microsoft Azure Cloud platform, Snowflake, Oracle, Postgres DB, Linux, Java,Git and BitBucket.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field with an information technology focus (foreign equivalent degree acceptable) plus 3 years of experience in software development (would also accept a bachelor's degree plus 5 years of post-baccalaureate, progressively responsible experience). This must include: 3 years of experience in Python, Shell Scripting, Netezza, and IBM Datastage; and 2 years of experience in: architecting applications and developing object-oriented systems; Microsoft Azure Cloud platform, Snowflake, Oracle, and Postgres DB. Any level of experience in and/or knowledge of: object-oriented design principles, SQL Server, Unix, and .NET.
