We are looking for a Senior Web Engineer to join our Brand Creative team and help maintain our web properties and infrastructure that power all things public-facing. You would be helping create performant and accessible web pages that drive inbound trials, demos, and leads. This is an opportunity to solve technical challenges as well as have opportunities to mentor and pair with more associate engineers on the team.
Brand Creative is a multi-disciplinary team of copywriters, visual and web designers, video producers, and web engineers, in a sense, we're an internal creative services team. Brand Creative Web Engineers and are here to implement the online elements that drive user growth, broadcast our brand, and tell our product story. Our web properties have unique web technologies that enable marketers to do their jobs effectively, and we're looking for someone to continue pushing the boundaries of what our technology stack could look like. We're looking for a compassionate engineer who is looking for a position ideating on reliable and cutting edge technologies to benefit developer experience as well as enabling marketers to effectively tell our product story. Qualifications
These are the minimum qualifications that our hiring team is looking for in this role:

  • 3+ years of experience with front-end web development technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure providers such as AWS, Netlify, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience managing and maintaining a content management system such as WordPress, Drupal, or a homegrown solution


Additionally, these are the preferred qualifications that would indicate a particularly strong candidate:

  • Experience mentoring and coaching junior/associate level developers
  • Experience with continuous integration such as Jenkins or TravisCI as well as implementing unit tests and performance monitoring


Within 1 month, you will:

  • Experience Sprout's in-depth onboarding, covering everything from our company mission and values, hearing directly from executives and founders to deep training on our products and the value that Sprout delivers to our customers.
  • Work with your manager to define your career goals and formulate a plan to make progress towards them.
  • Gain an understanding of the roadmap and processes by having discussions with your collaborators and manager.
  • Meet your teammates in UX, Design, Marketing, and Project Management and understand how Brand Creative plays a strategic role at Sprout.
  • Understand how code is deployed to our end users through paired programming with fellow web engineers on your team.
  • Deliver business value by shipping your first web experience with active pairing/mentoring from your teammates.


Within 3 months, you will:

  • Write unit tests for each feature that is built.
  • Ship a small-to-medium-sized feature in Brand Creative with the assistance of your manager and your peers.
  • Begin to network with the Marketing stakeholders and understand their needs and KPIs.
  • Begin writing design documents for potential future improvements to the technological stack.


Within 6 months, you will:

  • Begin to pair/mentor more associate-level members of the Brand Creative team.
  • Take ownership of code reviews and start advocating for industry best practices.
  • Begin implementing linting strategies as well continuous integration improvements to increase developer productivity.
  • Documented all processes and code that you found to not have as much documentation as necessary.


Within 12 months, you will:

  • Own Marketing's KPIs as your own, and act as a resource to help influence and shape them for success.
  • Implement a large-scale initiative from lightbulb moment to retrospective, and document the process.


Of course, what is outlined above is the ideal timeline, but things may shift based on business needs and other projects and tasks could be added at the discretion of your manager.
