Job Description Summary

The SharePoint Administrator will serve as a technical expert to CCC and the IT staff in providing operational, architecture, and engineering support for a multi-server SharePoint environment.

 

Job Duties

Job Overview:

This individual will: (1) Create new sites, lists, workflows and install new web parts; (2) Facilitate content development and help deliver operational efficiencies within CCC by leveraging experience with workflow and the Microsoft Platform utilizing SharePoint; (3) Oversee and participates in the architectural design, development, customization and integration efforts of solutions involving collaboration portals, content management, business process automation, and systems integration; and (4) Establish application security standards, capacity planning, governance, upgrades and system tuning.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

·       Interfaces with users to analyze the business requirements and translate them into effective solutions within the SharePoint environment. Maintains content on site collections and team sites.

·       Configures SharePoint Services and settings. Documents SharePoint configuration and architecture. Designs and develops web parts and integration components. Perform daily monitoring and troubleshooting of the platform components. Installs and configures patches and upgrades.

·       Troubleshoots SharePoint related problems and works with Help Desk to resolve user issues in a timely and courteous manner. Responds to calls received from the Help Desk ticket tracking software for ticket entry, tracking and follow up. Troubleshoots user problems that may require working with the user directly. Contributes to and updates the solutions database and the projects management database.

·       Configures SharePoint Services and settings. Documents SharePoint configuration and architecture. Designs and develops web parts and integration components. Perform daily monitoring and troubleshooting of the platform components.

·       Evaluates, recommends, documents and establishes standards around use of the SharePoint. Follows the established governance plan to guarantee adherence and delivery commitments. Creates and maintains standards to ensure quality control of the content on the intranet, working in partnership with key CCC departments and content owners to enforce content-editorial policy and CCC’s branding guidelines.

·       Assists with the creation of high-level strategic SharePoint Intranet project plan and corresponding tactical implementation plans. Partners with marketing, corporate communication, HR, IT staff, content owners and project stakeholders on the intranet development to identify opportunities for improvement and implementation of solutions that drive usage, streamline processes and facilitate communications, ultimately developing goals and strategies for future content growth. Reviews and analyzes user feedback and site metrics on an ongoing basis, taking action where appropriate to drive usage and enhance content.

·       Configures and maintains SharePoint Enterprise Search, index configurations, scheduling and optimizing content crawling. Play a key role in maintaining, enhancing and upgrading the SharePoint application as well as implementing and supporting new technology.

·       Serves as a liaison with vendors on the implementation of new packaged systems or upgrades to existing systems which integrate with SharePoint. Evaluates and recommends third-party software solutions.

·       Proactively interacts with all levels of CCC personnel and outside service companies to ensure the prompt resolution of SharePoint development issues. Enthusiastically responds to customers' needs in a proactive and timely manner and follows up to ensure a high level of user satisfaction with services provided.

·       Proactively maintains and expands knowledge of trends, developments and new technologies that may have a potential impact upon CCC’s operations. Researches, evaluates and provides input on software products and researches, evaluates and recommends enhancements to current applications programs, systems and methods of operating.

·       Assumes responsibility for maintaining the highest level of confidentiality of all CCC records and files.

·       Participates in departmental project teams and task forces designed to streamline workflow and/or resolve issues; assists with various CCC and/or departmental projects and initiatives as assigned.
 

 

Qualifications

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required

·       Microsoft Certified with current version of SharePoint / WSS, C#, JavaScript and MS SQL Server strongly preferred.

·       3+ years of Farm Administration experience with SharePoint. Expert-level expertise with current version of Microsoft SharePoint.

·       Strong competency in Microsoft Visual Studio, Windows Workflow Foundation, Forms Server and Excel Services. Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft.NET development tools, ODBC, IIS, Visual Studio, Internet Security, Visual Basic, HTML, SOAP and XML; CSS, XSLT, Handshake, PowerShell scripting, TCP/IP and Web Services. Thorough command of the industry language and the ability to effectively communicate technical information to a variety of technical and non-technical users.

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments, use initiative and judgment to accomplish results, participate as a team leader or member of a team, work under pressure and complete job assignments in an accurate, timely and professional manner. Good organization skills with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently while achieving deadlines and effectively communicating project status.

·       Excellent presentation, communication, interpersonal and customer service skills required and ability to interact effectively and professionally with all learning styles, personality types and levels of management, staff and a variety of external entities including clients and prospective clients of CCC.

·       Able to provide off hours (evening, weekends & holiday) to support projects, installations, upgrades and escalated issues, as needed.
