We're looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineering leader to join our team and infuse more SRE mentality into the team.
As a site reliability engineer on the Cirrus team, you will help us operate a cloud service and enhance our existing software, tools, and experiences to help delight our customers by enabling our software to run securely on a worldwide basis. You will help influence software architecture, application standards, and you will ensure that Cirrus is fast and stable for our worldwide Public Safety Customers.
Motorola Solutions Cirrus team is seeking engineers who are passionate about operating cloud platforms securely at scale simultaneously being mindful of maximizing utility while minimizing cost. As we process calls and other situational information in real-time between our clients radios, our cloud platform enables first responders to keep people safe. Responsibilities
You will be part of an SRE team that will operate and maintain Cirrus Cloud Services. You will need advanced knowledge of SRE best practices and software engineering disciplines. Every day will bring new intellectual challenges that will require equal parts cloud operations and software development approached with the rigor of an engineering mindset.
Your goal will be to every day further increase the reliability of Cirrus Cloud Services while deploying and supporting our Cloud services in multiple regions worldwide. You’ll be working with your colleagues to build, maintain and improve SRE KPI’s - SLO, SLI’s and error budgets for our mission critical Call Processing and System Management software while at the same time helping to coordinate reliability exercises with Chaos Engineering tools. And you will be expected to collaboratively experiment, prototype, take risks, and document your work while helping to continuously improve the availability and reliability of our Cirrus Cloud Services offerings.
Qualified Skills:
- 3+ years experience testing, deploying and operating services on cloud-based infrastructure (e.g. Azure or AWS)
Strong background and experience in Site Reliability Engineering
3+ years of experience with GIT, Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD tools
3+ years of experience with Java, Javascript, Angular, Python, or other high level languages
2+ years of experience in building, maintaining and improving SRE KPI’s - SLO, SLI’s and error budgets.
Experience with monitoring tools like ElasticSearch
Experience working with chaos engineering tools like Chaos Monkey or Gremlin, Spinnaker etc.
You can communicate effectively & persuasively, both in person and in the written form
You are adaptable, collaborative, and love eliminating ambiguity by figuring things out
Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
2+ years of SRE experience
5+ years of development experience
