Job Purpose:
Caterpillar is looking for a Snowflake Architect (SA) to be part of a team that is responsible for technical deployments and implementing new features of Snowflake to our business partners. SA must be a self-starter and should conduct hands-on development, configuration, or system setup for early-stage POCs/POVs. SA must have a passion to solve customers data driven challenges. SA should have a broad range of skills and experience ranging from data architecture to ETL, security, Cloud data warehouse, data cataloging, performance analysis, analytics, API's, etc. SA would work towards the creation and implementation of data lake Initiatives.
Description:
- 7 plus years of experience in designing, developing and maintaining the data architecture, data models and standards for various Data Integration & Data Warehousing projects in Snowflake, combined with other technologies
- 3 plus year of experience in implementing Snowflake advanced concepts like setting up resource monitors, RBAC controls, data sharing, virtual warehouse sizing, query performance tuning, Zero copy clone, and time travel
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake utilities, SnowSQL, SnowPipe, and SlowAlert
- Provide in-depth technical architectural design and support during program/project solution analysis and design to ensure road-map alignment
- Design Data Quality and data security processes to ensure Data Completeness, Consistency and Accuracy
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure data architecture alignment with key portfolio initiatives on the basis of cost, functionality and practicality
- Lead POC's as part of implementing Snowflake features along with architecting and implementing data lake initiatives
- Recommend solutions to improve new and existing Data Warehouse and Analytics solutions
- Create, publish, maintain and influence the data warehouse patterns across development and architecture community in snowflake
- Snowflake Certified Professional
Basic Requirements:
- College or university degree required
- Strong troubleshooting, problem solving and conceptualization skills
- 7 plus years of experience in designing, developing and maintaining the data architecture, data models and standards
