As our Software Build Engineer, you'll handle the building and deployment of multiple commercial software packages to internal and external environments. You'll apply best practices of software configuration management to all projects. You will help define and support a continuous integration and continuous delivery model by automating software build and deployment processes. You will maintain the version control system (branching model, security, etc.) and build plans and scripts. The ideal candidate for this role is a tech-savvy, experienced professional with a positive attitude who will continuously strive to improve and automate our build and release processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete ownership of code management and build processes in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Manage installation, scripts, and patches to the software
• Participate in the continuing development and implementation of a CI environment
• Building and packaging of Web, client-server, and desktop application deployments
• Perform software branching activities for each release cycle
• Setup, configure, and manage application tier and build servers
• Design, document, implement, and maintain scripts to enhance build/release processes
• Incorporate new development projects into existing build structures
• Troubleshoot application configuration issues to ensure packages get installed properly
• Participate in the improvement and documentation of software configuration processes
• Create automated build/deploy processes and architect next generation centralized deployment
• Continually evaluate tools and technologies to improve the overall release process

Qualifications:

• College degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or related discipline
• 2+ years of experience as a software application Build Manager or Release Engineer
• 2+ years of experience with Atlassian suite (Bitbucket, Bamboo, Jira, Confluence)
• Deep understanding of automated build and deployment processes and techniques
• Solid experience in build/release activities using scripts/automation in a SCRUM model
• Thorough knowledge of CM/Build concepts (branching, merging, integration, versioning, etc.)
• Experience using InstallShield and WiX
• Experience with VMware
• Languages: MSBuild, PowerShell, C#/VB
• Ability to train, mentor and share knowledge in both individual and group settings
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills are a must
• Very detail-oriented with a high level of attention to quality at every level
• Web, client-server, and desktop deployment experience preferred
