Your Role

We are looking for a talented and highly motivated Software Developer Engineer in Test with experience full stack testing web applications to be a member of our User Management product team in order to help bring the best possible software solution to educators.

You will have the opportunity to immediately contribute and see the results of your work in use by students, teachers, parents and district administrators across the country. This position reports to our Director of Quality Assurance.

Responsibilities

• Participate and contribute to all QA team deliverables which include; test strategy, test planning, manual test development, test automation, design reviews and defect triage.
• Work closely with developers to review unit, integration and functional tests to ensure proper test coverage through pull requests
• Determine the proper test strategy for manual and automated testing for new functionality based upon analyzing and decomposing project plan design and requirements.
• Investigate, debug and reproduce district reported field issues, using logs and database queries, validating the fixes when ready, perform escaped defect analysis where necessary
• Groom, execute and complete QA work items to align with development work items.
• Participate in Otus application delivery team application release deliveries where needed

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years experience of software testing/development
• Experience in web application test development writing automated tests with the following technologies; Java, TestNG, Javascript and NestJS
• Experience in testing web application backend development and 3rd party integrations and their interaction within the application
• Demonstrated experience testing applications with the following technologies; SQL, Angular/React, GraphQL, Javascript and Typescript
• Demonstrated ability to review logs and perform database queries using technologies such as; Elasticsearch, Grafana, MySQL Workbench
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical issues through analysis and a variety of problem solving techniques
• Strong understanding of SDLC and software testing methodologies that contribute to the release of quality software
• Ability to work in a self organizing team, working on your own daily tasks in a fast paced environment
• Highly motivated, passionate, and self-driven
• Value iterative progress over perfection

Nice to Haves

• Knowledge of CI/CD process, in the particular area of build & deployment tools in a Kubernetes and Docker environment

• Experience developing and performing application security testing
• Demonstrable experience performing data warehouse testing and verifying data integrity
