Grubhub is looking for a Software Engineer II for our Restaurant Integrations team. This team is responsible for integrations with industry-leading point-of-sale and online ordering systems, providing the perfect multi-channel ordering experience for the diners. We are looking for software engineers, experienced in building out fault-tolerant, high performance systems to join the team. Having a passion for food classifications is a plus!
The Impact You Will Make
- Understand the domain needs and develop highly-available, fault-tolerant features for our microservices platform.
- Be accountable for delivery, deployment, maintenance, monitoring the performance of the application and the platform.
- Write code with defined standards, review the code of peers, use security standards in the code and be able to measure the performance of the features.
- Collaborate with leadership, product owners, and technologists to deliver features that increase the offerings & efficiency of our systems.
- Be a proponent for improving our platform, processes, and tools.
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Programming, or Engineering related field.
- 3+ years experience building highly-scalable applications.
- Experience architecting, designing, and developing testable, fault tolerant, and performant software.
- Automated testing experience applicable for services (junit/testing, mockito + jmeter/gatling.io)
- AWS experience, or similar cloud based offerings.
- Strong fundamentals (data structures, algorithms).
- Familiarity or experience developing highly-available distributed systems (5x9’s uptime etc.)
- Familiarity with eventually consistent databases (Cassandra/MongoDB/CouchDB), distributed
