Department OverviewThe Software Enterprise Deployment and Integration team is the team that delivers solutions to the public safety sector. We are committed to providing technology and tools which will allow customers to focus on their mission, and enable them to respond faster with smarter and safer decisions. We deploy and support products such as Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management Systems, Jail Management Systems and Mobile Data Computing, among other offerings.
Job Description

This position is open to remote candidates based in the US .

The Motorola Solutions Consulting Services Organization develops the Software Enterprise and Integration deployment service offers for new product introduction and delivers services that enhance a customer's user experience through consulting and managed services. With our teams’ vast Public Safety Experience, our experts bring real world knowledge to our software solutions. Our goal is to assist customers in user adoption and enable the most efficient use of their software investment. Helping the customer understand the power of the end to end workflow, through structured service offers or customer specific consultation, our consultants empower customer decision making based on their desired operational outcomes.

This Software Engineering position will be a member of the Consulting Services Organization, responsible for the development of custom forms, workflows, reports, and other solutions as required for the implementation of Motorola Solutions Cloud products.

Reading and understanding requirements documentation provided by a Business Analyst, Customer, or another member of the Motorola Solutions team

Being involved in the process of clarifying and refining requirements - including production of mockups, acceptance criteria, etc.

Providing estimated timescales for the development of requirements 

Developing and engineering software solutions/applications to meet the requirements of the Customer/project.

Testing of software solutions/applications to ensure that the developed products meet the requirements and are free of defects.

Production of documentation describing the completed solution

Completing work to a high standard

Completing work in a timely manner

Will have a degree in Computing Science or equivalent

Will be capable of development of software applications without assistance from more experienced developers

Will be capable of self-learning new technologies and programming languages.

May work on more complex projects based, such as deployment of an established software product to a new customer. May also work on development/deployment for new, less established products - requiring a degree of self-learning and understanding of new technologies.

Qualifications:

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.

0-3 years of experience with professional software development

0-3 years of experience with .NET Framework and/or .NET Core

0-3 years of experience with relational databases

0-3 years of experience with XML technologies to include XSLT and XML schemas

0-3 years of experience with JSON

0-3 years of experience with Javascript

0-3 years of experience with GIT

0-3 years of experience with HTML

Experience with Agile Software Development practices

This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Basic Requirements

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.

Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer.
