WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Write high quality, well-tested and scalable code
- Evaluate the short- and long-term implications of every implementation decision
- Learn from other accomplished software engineers through pair coding
- Mentor interns to help them learn and grow professionally
- Take your dev chops to the next level
- Make an immediate impact by quickly getting up to speed and building features from start to finish
WHERE THIS ROLE MAY LEAD YOU
- Participating in design of features and architecting components
- Ownership of components of NextCapital's codebase
- Leading a team for a project or milestone
- Helping other developers as a subject matter expert
Requirements
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- You have experience building software or web applications with object oriented or functional programming languages. than any particular language. We do prefer experience with ruby/rails, javascript, or java. However, we care more about clean, well designed and scalable code.
- You love tackling really tough problems, and value the correct solution over a sloppy one
- You have a passion for software development, with side projects to prove it
- You understand test-driven-development, and you’re a capable debugger
- You’re comfortable reading & writing code, and can describe what each part of the code is doing
- You’re passionate about our mission to democratize financial advice and help everyone retire successfully
