Software Engineer, SRE
As a member of our Software Engineering Group you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You’ll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. You’ll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of what’s being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key. And best of all, you’ll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our global team of technologists from all over the world.
Responsibilities include:
Monitor Production Environment – Application health & Infra Hygiene, Resolve & manage incidents, Triage and resolve User queries.
Design and code software solutions that help automate manual processes
Work to improve the stability of applications in the production environment.
Migrate applications to new infrastructure and a standard development environment including on-boarding the applications to the standard tools for change management, source control, access management, and application monitoring.
Ensure changes to the applications follow a disciplined change management processes including all documentation, reviews, and approval steps using JPMC standard tool set for Automated testing , deployment
- Provide Level 3 production support to applications in production. Handle Code deployments for application releases.
- Identify opportunities to Automate L3 tasks (Application Build, Application Deployment etc.).
- Ensure infrastructure has adequate capacity and all environments are upto in terms of Hygiene (patches, resiliency, reboots etc.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
- BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical field of study/equivalent experience
- Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
- 5+ years of software engineer with hands-on experience and/or site reliability engineering in one Java J2EE technology stack , Oracle PL/SQL, Unix
- Knowledge of cloud-based technologies and tools especially in deployment, monitoring and operations, such as Kubernetes, Slack, Elastic search, Grafana, Kibana, etc.
- Developing monitoring tools and log analysis tools to manage operations. Exposure to Geneos , App Dynamics, Splunk/ Kibana would be a plus.
- Experience implementing and/or using Git/Stash, Jenkins, ARM, JIRA, and code quality & security scanning tools
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, both with business customers and with fellow IT professionals (Business Analysts, Project Managers and Developers)
