Software Engineer at Belvedere Trading
Belvedere Trading is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Intel team. Our focus is to deliver high-quality technology solutions to our core groups. We strive to understand, and support end-user needs, leverage data to gauge effectiveness, and advance our trading infrastructure by stabilizing all departments. Our Software Engineers participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, from design to testing to deployment.
As a Software Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for the systems that manage the post-execution side of trades including position reconciliation, position management, risk, PNL, accounting, and clearing. You will focus on the design, implementation, and maintenance of all middle and back-office applications. The ideal candidate is passionate about leveraging technology to solve complex technical problems and owning their solutions within a fast-paced and dynamic trading environment.
What you’ll do
- Design and implement enhancements for our global middle office and post-trade systems, predominately using C# and Python
- Create new automation and customization, developing new tools and dashboards to provide impactful insights into financial and operational data
- Extract, analyze, reconcile, and report on data from multiple internal and external systems
- Be hands-on in writing clean and maintainable code and building large distributed systems
- Collaborate with multiple teams to understand the business problems, changing priorities, and devise technical solutions
- Continually expand your knowledge base with regards to programming languages, technologies, and general aspects of the company
What you’ll need
- 2-3 years of trading systems development, preferably in the middle and back-office stack
- Strong programming experience in C# and Python required; proficiency with SQL scripting languages preferred; C++ a plus
- Experience with messaging technologies like KAFKA, NATS, Pulsar preferred
- Strong agile development practices (Unit-Test/Automatic Build/Deployment)
- Working knowledge of common database technologies (SQL Server) and operating systems
- Self-starter who can get things done with minimal direction
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to learn and use new technologies
- Proven ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another STEM-related field of study
