We are seeking a mid to senior-level engineer primarily focused on backend development, data management, and integration with various third party platforms. A lot of our systems are written in Python, but we are always willing to experiment with new tools and technologies that make our jobs easier. Our engineering team is small, so you will have a substantial impact on the direction of the platform from day one.

What you will be working on:

• Key contributor to the design and implementation of new products and features through the entire stack, including our React client app and Python services
• Involved at all stages of application development - from UI design to deployment and monitoring
• Integrate real time data from various third party services to give users insight into what is happening on their farms
• Build internal analytics tools that give our executive, sales, and marketing teams better insight into how best to serve farmers and landowners on the platform

What you bring:

• Good understanding of foundational Comp Sci principles: Data Structures / Algorithms, algorithmic complexity (Big O notation)
• Proficiency in Python, with knowledge of at least one Python web framework (Flask/Django)
• Knowledge of SQL and relational data (PostgreSQL is a plus)
• Docker and building highly available applications
• AWS (S3, EC2, RDS, etc) and continuous delivery
• PostGIS and working with geospatial data
• Experience with balancing security/scalability with the needs of the business
