Sr. Compliance Testing Specialist

What will your day look like?
You will be responsible for executing the annual compliance testing plan in accordance with the Compliance Testing Schedule to evaluate the credit union's adherence to policies and procedures, federal, state, and local laws and regulations. The incumbent will support the Manager, Compliance Testing and Risk Assessments in achieving department goals by assisting in designing testing processes, standards, and templates. Work requires high attention to details, successful cross functional collaboration and ability to influence without authority. General direction is received from the Manager, Compliance Testing and Risk Assessments.
Responsibilities

- Planning, designing, and conducting risk based and targeted compliance testing reviews for specific business areas, products and services, and regulations.
- Conducting business process walkthroughs and document key controls, identifying process gaps and controls weaknesses.
- Analyzing and timely escalation of potential findings.
- Leading issue vetting meetings with the business, conduct root cause analysis and evaluate issue risk rating, ensure adequate and appropriate action plans are in place to remediate and track progress.
- Preparing compliance testing reports that clearly articulate the results of testing and provide relevant and appropriate assessments of the results of such testing.
- Maintaining detailed high-quality work papers in accordance with Compliance Testing standards and procedures.
- Performing QA/QC reviews of peer work papers.
- Participating in the evolution of the Regulatory Compliance Testing program, provide input to the annual Compliance Testing Plan and coverage.
Qualifications
What makes you a great fit?
You'll be a great fit if in addition to the completion of a Bachelor's degree required, Master's Degree preferred, and you have:
- 5+ years' experience as a compliance tester, internal/external auditor, risk management professional, or examiner
- Solid understanding and knowledge of consumer banking and lending products, as well as financial industry compliance and/or risk management experience with financial institutions, consulting firms, or regulatory agencies
- In-depth knowledge and application of compliance risk management principals and industry best practices for consumer compliance and continuously improving a proactive Compliance Management System
- Working knowledge of consumer protecting regulations, such as ECOA, TILA, RESPA, UDAAP, HMDA, Privacy, Flood, etc.
- Excellent relationship building and collaboration skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate with all levels
- Excellent analytical and data visualization skills. Tableau experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously under the pressure of a time sensitive schedule
- Compliance and/or risk professional certifications are a plus (CRCM, CCEP, NCCO, etc.)
