Department OverviewThe Technical Operations department lends technical support to all products produced by the manufacturing operations.
Job Description
As a member of our team you will work on State of the Art Communication devices used by First Responders and our Commercial Customers to help them make a Difference in the Moments That Matter!
In this role you will:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot software and hardware problems of MSI portable and mobile subscriber products in manufacturing environment.
- Trace complex problems within a product that does not meet specific test and quality requirements and clearly define root cause of the problem.
- Identify electrical and mechanical problems using various types of test equipment (Audio Analyzer, Signal Generator, Modulation Analyzer, Power Meter, Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, DMM, etc), simulators and several test applications.
- Use your RF knowledge, microprocessor theory, communication protocols and excellent analytical skills to perform the necessary testing and inspections to determine root cause of failures.
- Read and interpret schematics/diagrams to troubleshoot down to board and component levels.
- Help identifying vendor vs. process defects as well as be able to write detailed failure analysis reports and record data of failures.
- Discuss results of failure analysis and corrective actions with management, product/quality engineers and test system engineers to help resolve issues.
- Qualifications:
- 3+ year RF related experience.
- Electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of Motorola 2-way subscriber products is a PLUS
Basic Requirements
- Associates Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- 3+ years related experience in electronics analysis.
- Must be able to work 2nd shift
