Job Description:
JOB PURPOSE: To serve as an experienced, individual contributor on projects and assignments that are complex in nature and that support and enhance Caterpillar product performance, durability, reliability, quality, and serviceability.
JOB DUTIES: Responsible for validating new drivetrain products and resolving critical customer drivetrain issues by performing complex analysis, identifying and solving problems, including clarifying product requirements, providing technical guidance, initiating ideas for developing test plans, and developing acceptance criteria. Responsible for executing product tests, analyzing results, summarizing conclusions, and communicating results to all project participants and stakeholders. Responsible for translating critical technical test requirements into specifications for the build and/or improvement of test facilities for drivetrain systems. Responsible for the inspection and root cause analysis of drivetrain component or system failures.
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:
Required Qualifications:
- Masters Degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related area.
- 2 years of progressive experience in mining or construction powertrain product development experience (design, test, or analysis); CAN; J1939.
Alternatively, will accept a Bachelors Degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related and 5 years of progressive experience in mining or construction powertrain product development experience (design, test, or analysis); CAN - J1939.
