Job Summary:

As a Senior Full Stack Developer on the Bookstore and Inclusive team, you will work to integrate our eReader platform with university learning management systems and bookstores. You’ll work on a scrum team to plan sprints, research and design features, write code, review the code of your teammates, and deploy it to production frequently. As a senior member, you’ll be critical in providing guidance on software architecture, providing technical input to the product management team as they define our upcoming projects, and mentoring less experienced developers. Effective communication and collaboration skills are key.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Build new features across the whole technology stack
  • Participate in the scrum process: refining and estimating user stories, planning sprints, daily stand up meetings, code reviews
  • Provide technical input to the product management team as they prepare user stories for upcoming sprints
  • Collaborate with other developers to complete user stories, and with product management to ensure customer needs are met
  • Mentor less experienced developers on coding and architecture best practices

Requirements:

  • 6-7 years of professional web development experience, Python / Django preferred
  • Strong front end development skills with modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Experience with software and systems architecture for rapid changes and maintainability
  • Ability to mentor junior programmers effectively
  • Good communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Linux (production systems) and MacOS (development systems)

Other Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Experience with continuous delivery in a scrum environment
  • Experience with higher education software
