RESPONSIBILITIES

• Full stack web development with a variety of languages including but not limited to Ruby, JavaScript, PHP, HTML and CSS.
• Implement consumer-facing web interfaces across the Avail product, including the core product and content marketing sites.
• Work to build and scale our our back-end infrastructure and services to meet fast growing data demands of a national audience.
• Be an advocate for good, clean, well-documented and performant code
• Work closely with product designers, product managers, engineers and customer support to deliver a compelling user-facing product, leveraging tools and frameworks such as React, Webpack and Ruby on Rails.
• Provide thoughtful solutions to complex scaling and performance issues
• Troubleshoot and solve technical issues as they arise in a timely manner

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Excellent programming experience
• Broad understanding and experience using relational databases and SQL
• 5+ years of professional JavaScript experience, including concepts like asynchronous programming, closures, types, and ES6
• 5+ years of professional HTML/CSS experience, including concepts like layout, specificity, cross browser compatibility
• 5+ years of professional experience with browser APIs and optimizing front end performance
• Must have demonstrated expertise in a React / Webpack architecture, written in ES6
• Must have demonstrated expertise in writing original cross-browser compliant CSS
• Experience developing web pages and front-end solutions from provided wireframes and designs
• Positive attitude, commitment to the continuous development of your technical expertise, strong work ethic and service-oriented mindset

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in deploying to Amazon's Elastic Beanstalk or a similar auto-scaling architecture
• Experience in leveraging tools such as React Native
• Broad knowledge of SEO best practices, able to produce performant landing pages
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, or equivalent work experience
• A strong eye for design and user experience
