Job Summary



As part of their continued innovation Walgreens is investing in the transformation of every facet of their organization and investing heavily in new platforms and innovative technology. Walgreens is seeking a Senior Identity and Access Management (IAM) engineer for the Walgreen’s Information Security team who has prior experience in engineering Identity and Access Management enterprise solutions.  This is an opportunity to work across a global technology organization as an engineer establishing, defining and deploying Identity standards.  This IAM engineer must have a proven track record of providing engineered solutions and an ability to communicate both within their team and to their cross-functional colleagues ensuring consistent scalable solutions for Walgreens cloud infrastructure security. 



The Engineer will design and develop innovative identity solutions for protecting data deployed into different types of cloud / hybrid-cloud systems. This position will directly contribute to the overall enterprise IAM architecture and the delivery of the security vision and strategy around cloud-based applications, across Infrastructure, Platform, and Software as a Service (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS). This is an ideal opportunity for an IAM Engineer who enjoys being close to technology and helping establish the technical direction for enterprise cloud and other initiatives in a global market leading organization. 



Develop and deliver identity solutions for cloud and cloud/hybrid based systems. Possess a firm understanding of the offerings within Microsoft IAM platform primarily Azure AD. Based on business requirements, design and implement cloud-native architectures and designs that will allow those requirements to be met with a minimal degree of risk to the firm and with appropriate security controls present.



Acts as the ambassador and technical representative for Enterprise Security while engaging with other colleagues throughout the firm in design and implementation of cloud and cloud/hybrid based implementations and solutions. Works with Engineering, Infrastructure Services, and Application Development organizations to choose appropriate technology solutions and facilitates complete integration with the Enterprise IAM environments.  Develops standards in partnership with Engineering, Infrastructure Services, and Application Development.

Identifies, recommends, coordinates, and/or conducts informal al training sessions to deliver timely knowledge to support teams regarding technologies, processes or tools. and regularly require the application of independent judgment.





Job Responsibilities

  • Actively participates in the daily operational activities that impact important components / processes of the of the IT work function, and may include responsibilities, such as:
    • Execution of deployment operations to monitor and improve on pre-release, upgrades and current versions of software.                                  
    • Evaluating compatibility of programs with existing hardware and/or software features.
    • Development of protocols to support established standards.
    • Improving operation and monitoring of advanced or complex features.
    • Development of processes and interface requirements.
    • Data development and definition of acceptance criteria.                                                 
  • Gathers and updates necessary information and communicates to appropriate parties.
  • Utilizes experience in order to identify problematic relationships. Anticipates, prevents and eliminates problems and creates efficient fixes. Facilitates elimination of problems and roadblocks before they occur.
  • Works cross-functionally to accomplish assignments. Interacts with internal and external peers and managers to exchange complex information related to areas of specialization.
  • Mentors less experienced members of the team.
  • May assist in live site support and incident resolution that may include on-call rotation.

External Basic Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 3 years of experience in a technical engineering role, such as software development, release management, deployment engineering, site operations, technical operations or similar OR High School Diploma / GED and at least 6 years of experience in a technical engineering role, such as software development, release management, deployment engineering, site operations, technical operations or similar.
  • Experience in Technology infrastructure, such as Network, Monitoring, Systems, Databases, etc.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community and with vendors.
  • Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
  • Experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics
  • Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
  • Knowledge of programming languages
  • At least 6 years of experience with information technology and/or information security experience in at least one of the areas listed below:
    • Engineering experience in IAM domain
    • Experience on IAM, including IAM standard protocols, such as SAML, OAuth, OIDC, SCIM etc.
    • Experience with enterprise-level IAM systems.
    • Knowledge of Azure AD Architecture, federation protocols and Single Sign On concepts
    • Knowledge of IGA concepts and best practices
    • Experience in developing Java/J2EE and/or .NET applications
    • Experience with at least one Directory Server, such as Ping Directory/Active Directory, OUD technologies
  • Experience working in a team atmosphere and collaborating with others to establish and meet timelines with minimal oversight
  • Knowledge of IAM technologies
