WHO YOU ARE

As the Wealth Management Engineering Manager,

you will lead multiple teams that provide support to a large, diverse user base comprised of both Northern Trust clients and global technology and business partners.

You work hard to stay on top of fast changing technology and invest a lot of energy in learning new tricks.

You are caught up on industry trends in client development frameworks and also anticipate what the near future will bring.

Furthermore:

• You bring 10+ years of experience as a support manager or application/engineering manger

• You can learn quickly and think creatively, always looking for opportunities to innovate and improve

• You are a lifelong learner that has a unique blend of business and technical savvy in the digital world; a big-picture vision and ability to effectively roadmap a desired outcome, and the delivery know-how to make that vision a reality

• You can handle multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment

• You are a proven leader and can help teams assimilate and apply new concepts, business models, and technologies

• You have experience with modern delivery methods and techniques such as DevSecOps, automation and human-centered design or design thinking Our tech stack: Spring Boot Microservices / Java Hibernate / ORM / ReactJS / Kafka / JMS / Junit / Oracle / DataStage / Pivotal Cloud Foundry / Salesforce / Apex / Azure / .NET

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a partner on the Digital Services team, you will be an integral part of one of our nimble and agile cross-functional teams innovating an entire industry. We are actively exploring emerging technologies in AI, Machine Learning, Predictive Analytics, Blockchain and Decentralized Finance to elevate dozens of products and services which millions of customers use.

As an Engineering Manager, you will:

• Lead multiple teams to support clients, business, and technology partners across the Wealth Management application landscape

• Coordinate with internal and external technology, infrastructure, and support teams to efficiently resolve production incidents

• Mentor and coach other team members, specifically with agile mindsets, skillset growth, and execution focus

• Ensure successful delivery of solutions and initiatives, focusing on meeting and exceeding business objectives

• Collaborate with application development teams in both support escalation and new development contexts

• Constantly looks for better ways of solving technical problems and designing the solution by not being afraid of challenging the status quo

• Build high performing teams to support a wide variety of applications, technologies and platforms

• Define and monitor metrics to improve application stability and availability, as well as sustain and improve cost efficiencies and productivity gains

• Work with senior leadership to define efficient support models, vendor partnerships, and tool/process investment opportunities

• Facilitate brainstorming sessions and build consensus. Interact with senior leaders in business and technology

• Serve as a point of escalation for any service disruptions or delays, participating in critical incident swat sessions as necessary

• Manage all staffing, hiring, and CapEx/OpEx forecasts and plans
