Job Description Summary

The Senior QA Analyst is a member of the Enterprise Quality Assurance team working on existing, new and emerging software products. General understanding of technical infrastructure, business applications and product functionality. The candidate must be able to ensure the product meets the needs specified in the scope requirements and analysis documents of the project.

Job Duties

  • Responsible for leading onsite, remote and offshore testing team for product releases
  • Responsible for managing all testing activities in the project plan
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Review and analyze scope requirements and create detailed test plans
  • Prepare test data and oversee readiness of test environments
  • Perform functional and non-functional testing and analyze test results
  • Identify and track defects to closure
  • Create and update test artifacts (Test Strategy, Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Status) for newly developed and legacy applications
  • Create key quality metrics
  • Support Project teams in user acceptance testing
  • Mentor junior resources on the team
  • Oversight of offshore testing
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends for production deployments, when needed.

Qualifications

  • 5+ Years software testing experience on complex IT projects
  • 1+ Years in leading a testing team of 3 or more people
  • Deep understanding of software QA methodologies and best practices
  • Experience in test plan development and execution (Functional, System Integration, Regression, User Acceptance, Risk Based Testing)
  • Experience in Web UI, web service and API testing
  • Experience in testing Mobile native applications
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL
  • Experience with defect management and test management tools such as Version One, Jira, TestRail, Test Link
  • Experience with API testing tools, such as SoapUI, Postman, JMeter   
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task
  • Must be able to work as an individual or within a team
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent time management skills and project management skills
  • Must have the ability to prioritize tasks and/or projects, and solve problems under pressure of deadlines and resource constraints
  • Experience with working with remote and offshore resources
  • Experience with any test automation is a plus (Selenium, Python, Java Script)
  • Insurance or automotive industry experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
