Sr. Software Engineer- Java
Job Description As a Senior Software Engineer on the Corporate and Investment Bank Reliability Engineering team, you'll be responsible for engineering solutions that publish standard application telemetry. You'll be designing libraries that embed CNCF OpenTelemetry into our core application frameworks, providing SREs and engineers with data needed to measure the availability of our most critical services. You'll have the freedom to innovate and design solutions that improve the developer experience.
As a member of our central Reliability Engineering team, you'll join a group of curious problem solvers with a diverse set of perspectives who are thinking big and taking risks. Responsibilities:
- Design and build software components that improve the availability, resilience, performance of our systems.
- Relentlessly focus on the developer experience and engineer solutions that provide consistent, unified data about our technology systems
- Provide technical guidance to other developers on the Reliability Engineering team
- Write well-tested, well-factored software
- Work independently with multiple stakeholders across organizational boundaries
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in an software engineering discipline
- 5+ years of Java application development
- Strong knowledge of Spring Boot
- Experience architecting reusable application frameworks in Java
- Experience in cloud native, distributed application design and implementation
- Proficient in working across organizational boundaries to solve complex and mission critical problems within a business or across the firm
- Strong communication skills and ownership
