Job Description:
JOB PURPOSE:
The Sr. Software Engineer contributes to design, development and deployment of Caterpillar's state-of-the-art digital platform. This position will build a world class platform to host a wide range of digital applications.
JOB DUTIES: Will design, develop and deploy a platform to host a wide range of digital applications. Will work across functional lines with individuals assigned in new program development and/or maintenance of existing mobile, WEB, Cloud, server, personal computer, mainframe, and/or distributed computing systems. Will work on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution, Will assist in direct development, debugging, and testing of application software for accuracy, integrity, interoperability, and completeness.
Basic qualifications:
- Masters Degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering or related area.
- 5 years of progressive experience designing and developing software applications in Java (or Scala) including three (3) years experience in developing Micro frontends using Angular RxJS, Ngrx (or similar state management library), experience in Mobile web development using Capacitor or Cordova and End-to-end testing framework (Testcafe).
Alternatively, will accept a Bachelors Degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering or related and 7 years of progressive experience designing and developing software applications in Java (or Scala) including three (3) years experience in developing Micro frontends using Angular RxJS, Ngrx (or similar state management library), experience in Mobile web development using Capacitor or Cordova and End-to-end testing framework (Testcafe).
