Senior Technical Consultant
Overview
As part of our growth, iManage is hiring for a Sr. Technical Consultant to join the team in Chicago. The Senior Consultant is responsible for providing technical leadership in the delivery of projects and expert services to clients. The Senior Technical Consultants take responsibility for technical delivery and provide high-value advice and guidance to clients. Our consultants work collaboratively with clients to understand business processes, requirements and ensure delivery of successful business-critical solutions. The successful applicant will be experienced and comfortable in project delivery, acting as a trusted advisor to clients and adept at maintaining and developing client relationships. This position is based in Chicago with travel within the US and beyond (travel likely to average 50%) and reports to a US Consulting Manager.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership of consulting engagements in planning, analysis, installation and testing of iManage solutions to ensure they meet client expectations
- Assess customer requirements, clarify client’s system specifications, understand their work practices and the nature of their business and formulate solution design including infrastructure and application aspects
- Conduct product demonstrations in support of business cases, best-practice advice to clients and function as a trusted advisor
- Create client deliverables such as presentations, detailed design documentation, build and deployment guides, task lists, and present progress reports to the project teams
- Deliver knowledge transfer sessions to customers and other team members
- Attain in-depth knowledge of and become leading subject matter expert in our iManage products
- Assign tasks to project team members and review the team’s work to ensure that they are accurate and consistent; Supervise junior consultants as appropriate
- Provide feedback on product usage, features requested at customer sites to R&D so as to influence future roadmap direction
- Support case study development and provide lessons learned feedback to the project team
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree Computer Science or related field with 5+ years hands-on experience in software consulting
- Experience of delivery of Enterprise Content Management solutions ideally within legal, professional services, financial service industries. Previous experience with iManage products & associated technologies is a HUGE plus
- Demonstrated client-facing capability to lead design sessions, understand business and product usability, influence outcomes to align with product best practices, and prioritize user and functional requirements
- Excellent technical skills with .NET applications, SQL, Microsoft Desktop software, database concepts, and virtual desktop and Citrix technologies
- Experience working with Virtual Desktop and Citrix technologies
- Good understanding of infrastructure principles, virtual machines technologies, storage concepts, client/server computer operating systems (thick & thin clients), networking hardware, protocols and administration and system integration across multi-tiered highly secure IT environments
- Strong written/verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively
