Purpose:
Participates in research of latest technology and delivers on overall technology strategy while setting architectural guidance and principals deliver to our business goals. Objectively analyze desired processes and outcomes and advices on the right combination of technology systems and components to achieve KPI’s.

Responsibilities:

• Set key strategic architecture direction across productized engineering teams
• Check and review architecture and code, e.g., check if defined patterns and coding standards are implemented properly
• Works on experimental POC projects and transition to engineering teams
• Document and communicate architectural patterns, design and decisions
• Coach, consult and mentor engineers
• Recommends new tools, frameworks and best practices including CI/CD
• Detail out and refine higher level design into lower level design
• Creates or signs off on services/payloads used for integration between systems and vendors
• System analysis and troubleshooting

Measures of Success:

• Reference architecture for each platform is up to date and well understood by the engineering team(s), with evidence of legacy architecture being transformed towards this.
• Delivered system focused business cases for new core technologies supporting ROI
• Simplified architectural footprint and reduced Single point of failures (SPOF)

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor in Computer Science or related field
• ±10 years of experience in Object-Oriented software design and development
• ±10 years of experience in CORE JAVA
• You have utilized one or more cloud-based platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
• You have built systems utilizing Elastic, Solr, Lucene, REST/SOAP/Web Services, XML, JSON
• You are able to show how you incrementally transitioned legacy systems to modern micro-services, and composable architectures
• Demonstrated hands-on experience developing Single Page Applications SPAs using HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, TypeScript and Angular 4+
• You have a track record of crafting scalable, always-on, multi-region systems.
• You have proven expertise in a wide variety of database technologies, from Oracle to NoSQL systems such as MongoDB, Cassandra, and Elasticsearch
• You drove decisions for build vs buy scenarios, and outlined the pros and cons
