closerlook is seeking a Systems Administrator (SA) who will be responsible for the maintenance and security of the production complex, client data and for meeting SLAs for the company’s clients. The SA is responsible as well for uptime, maintenance and security of the operational infrastructure and facilities of closerlook. Further, the SA is responsible for maintaining the security of client data, conducting third-party security testing and audits on a regularly scheduled basis, updating security compliance documentation and providing results to the IT Manager.

Activities include providing hands-on system administration support, system maintenance and operations support; recommending software and hardware enhancements; building, configuring and troubleshooting software and hardware enhancements, application deployments and infrastructure upgrades. Diagnose and correct computer systems issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 I.  System Infrastructure

  • Monitor and maintain system infrastructure, Dev/QA/Staging/Production environments, Microsoft Exchange, phone system, Backstage, data and facilities security (i.e. access control and alarm system).
  • Act as primary point of contact for employees regarding IT and availability issues; manages issue escalation and resolution with third party vendors.
  • Recommend reliability, efficiency and cost-savings improvements to management.
  • Hands-on configuration for servers, computers, network and facilities access.  Applies patches and upgrades to development, QA, staging and business environments, network and computer systems.
  • Onboard new employees, providing computer, network access, phone system, security pass and other IT services as directed by IT Manager.  Remove access and services for terminated employees.
  • Maintain records of asset purchases and assures compliance of software licensing.

II.  Vendor Management

  • Manage vendors to ensure they meet SLAs; compile and present performance reporting to vendors and the IT Manager to demonstrate vigilance and assure transparency.

III.  Data Security and Disaster Recovery

  • Complete and maintain security documentation, conduct security tests and audits and report results.  Assure compliance with GDPR and PCI standards.  Under the direction of the IT Manager, is responsible for updating and maintaining the Security Policies Handbook.
  • Participates in semi-annual disaster recovery drill.  Documents results and submits to CTO for review.  Under the direction of the IT Manger, responsible for updating and maintaining Disaster Recovery Handbook. 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.S. in Information Technology or related field
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience. Demonstrable skills/specialties including:
    • Windows Server Operation and Administration
    • Administering Hyper-V on Windows Fail-over Cluster
    • IIS Administration: Creating rewrite rules preferred
    • Windows Clustering
    • Powershell Scripting
    • Azure PaaS Administration
    • Backup system administrator: Commvault preferred
    • Administering Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP
    • Microsoft Exchange 2013
  • Mac Administration Experience: Apple Remote Desktop preferred

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Working knowledge of Proactive Monitoring Solutions: Elk Stack preferred
  • Working knowledge Linux, Bash, Python
  • Working knowledge of Virtualization technologies: VMware, Parallels
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server: account create, assign rights, backing and restoring databases
  • Working knowledge of VLAN’s, static routing, stateful firewalls, and BGP
