Technical Services – Technical Architect | Remote-North America (Chicago, Illinois, San Francisco, California, Seattle, Washington)

Engage with DocuSign’s clients to vision, design and deliver high value Agreement Cloud solutions. The Technical Architect role will provide deep product and solution expertise as well as technical architecture guidance to help customers fully leverage their investments in the DocuSign platform

The team
The DocuSign Professional Services’ core focus is to passionately ensure successful delivery of Agreement Cloud implementation and integration solutions for our customers. 

Position Summary 
As a highly visible and customer-facing position, the Technical Architect (TA) works with an exceptional professional services organization, including Product Consultants, Project Managers, Technical Consultants, and Solution Architects.

The Technical Architect acts as the Agreement Cloud architecture expert and technical subject matter expert supporting customer and partner deployments of the DocuSign Agreement Cloud. The successful candidate will have customer-facing expertise combined with deep technical acumen. They will have a proven ability to understand complex business requirements and be capable of architecting and designing technical solutions to meet those requirements. This role is responsible for ensuring a successful implementation by developing a well-built integration architecture and a thorough technical design of the custom DocuSign platform that is consistent with the customer’s business needs. The Technical Architect also provides knowledge on DocuSign APIs in support of custom integrations. The Technical Architect will facilitate communication among customers, project teams, and other stakeholders in order to drive successful business outcomes. The successful candidate will play a critical part in the continued success of customers’ accelerated adoption of the DocuSign Agreement Cloud.

The Technical Architect will play a critical role in ensuring the success of the Professional Services team. We are expanding a world class Professional Services organization with a proven track record of working alongside Fortune 500 IT departments, system integrators, independent software manufacturers, and open source communities. This position is an individual contributor and reports to Professional Services Technical Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design and in many cases develop high quality solutions for customers’ Agreement Cloud platform deployment using cutting edge cloud technologies
  • Provide technical expertise that ensures customer expectations are properly set
  • Overcome potential roadblocks necessary to ensure project success
  • Work with Engagement Managers to scope additional use cases that enable strong adoption and expansion
  • Provide thought leadership to expand the Professional Services knowledge base
  • Support organizational initiatives to advance our Professional Services offerings
  • Independently innovate and develop new solutions leveraging contemporary internet and cloud technologies, along with the entire DocuSign Agreement Cloud platform
  • Ensure that best practices and industry standards are incorporated into all delivered custom code solutions
  • Provide technical and thought leadership on all development related activities within Professional Services

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience working directly with both business and IT client team members to understand business requirements and apply technology solutions to meet those requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of development/coding experience in product engineering or custom/services engineering

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated software development and consulting expertise, specifically with technologies including but not limited to XML (WSDL), REST, SOAP, publisher/listener architecture, .NET, Java, PHP, Ruby
  • Demonstrated experience working with code (C++, C# or Java) and data in SQL or XML data stores
  • Demonstrated cross platform/cross product architecture expertise delivering mission critical solutions to enterprise and high growth customers
  • Demonstrated design experience leveraging cloud architectures such as Salesforce, Azure, or AWS
  • Deep experience with API middleware connectors
  • Prior Enterprise Architect roles in Financial Services, Health and Life Sciences, and/or High-Tech verticals is strongly desired
  • Experience and expertise partnering with Account Executive and Pre-Sales Engineering resources in technology blueprint and vision discussions
  • Demonstrated solution visioning experience within a services-related sales process
  • Proven track record of leading larger projects with multiple workstreams, resources, and products
