Department Overview
Motorola Solutions is building talent pipelines to meet future hiring demands. This is a pipeline role, while there may not be an immediate opening, we want to build relationships with prospective candidates. Job Description

This role is ideal for someone with strong technical acumen who wants to explore the business side of sales enablement and technical technical project management. Depending on the candidate, there is flexibility to adapt the role responsibilities to focus more on engineering vs. project management activities.

The Technical Presales Manager provides total presales solution ownership as the overall presale team business leader and manages the overall project business for his/her assigned projects. 

Responsibilities: 

Assisting in the development of business plans, strategies, and approaches to take advantage of business opportunities.

Coordinate departmental and cross-functional teams (Engineers, Sales, Finance, Legal, Proposal Center, Systems Implementation and Services Teams) and focusing on delivering accurate and timely proposals.

Manage projects from identification of the presale opportunity and proposal inception to transition of the project to the post-sale team.

Ensuring that projects are completed on time and in conformance with relevant requirements.

Working with the other business groups, being responsible for identifying upcoming opportunities, evaluating requirements, identifying specific statements of work, producing detailed project schedules & ensuring the proposed customer solution will be implemented with the best possible strategy.

Issue RFQs (Request for Quote) for third-party content and negotiate for best cost-benefit to Motorola Solutions

Participate in Contract negotiations as subject matter & proposal experts.

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree is required. Preferred emphasis in Engineering or MBA

4+ years of related experience in Sales Engineering

Strong technical acumen

Prior experience with development and implementation of an entire presale process focused on delivering accurate and timely proposals

Experience in issuing RFQs (Request for Quote) for third-party content and negotiate for best cost-benefit to Motorola Solutions

Interest in managing cross-functional teams and monitor progress of all proposal deliverables needed for the customer proposal

Ability to travel up to 25% (domestic only)


Basic Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree is required. Preferred emphasis in Engineering or MBA

4+ years of related experience in Sales Engineering
