Job Description
As an Engineering/Technology Specialist, you will be a technical expert and key contributor on research, development and validation projects assignments that are broad, complex, and challenging in nature. You will contribute to the planning and delivery of Aftertreatment projects involving bench testing full-scale components and systems, continually learn and stay abreast of innovative technology, mentor, coach, and teach team members, and deepen your professional network.
Job Duties/Responsibilities: may include, but are not limited to
* Perform hardware, process, controls, and test system operation, maintenance, calibration, and upgrades on the Full-size Aftertreatment System Test (FAST) bench
* Work with internal business unit clients and process partners to expand the role and adoption of bench testing within Aftertreatment component and system development and validation, including accelerated aging for full-life DF demonstration to meet regulation standards, for all machine and engine system platforms
* Drive continuous improvement and verification of FAST bench-to-engine system correlation and FAST bench-to-core bench performance correlation
* Evaluate and promote new Aftertreatment products, processes, controls, and/or systems solutions
* Communicate results to customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units
* Collaborate and support other engineers, managers, marketing personnel, customers, and suppliers
* Keep up to date on new component and system technologies, analytical and test hardware, and bench test standards
* Provide technical guidance on Aftertreatment competency and bench test capability needs analyses and initiate ideas to improve Aftertreatment R&D efficiency, capability, capacity, and test safety
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum plus a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in Engine and Aftertreatment system development testing and validation of OR a minimum of 10 years of direct work experience in Engine and Aftertreatment system development testing and validation
* Deep understanding of Diesel Particulate Filters, Selective Catalytic Reduction Systems, Diesel Oxidation Catalysts, and DEF and HC injection, mixing, and control systems
* Demonstrated expertise using data communication, acquisition, and control systems (Canape, Versadaq, Morphee) and laboratory analytical instruments (FTIR, AVL, Horiba)
Desired Qualifications:
* Advanced degree in Engineering OR 15 years of relevant work experience in Engine and Aftertreatment system development testing and validation;
* Direct experience on STLF/NTI/NPI/CPI programs focused on design, test and/or troubleshooting Aftertreatment systems performance and system validation
