Summary

SDI delivers turnkey digital video management systems and all related components, including digital cameras, high definition cameras, multi‐terabyte storage systems, and high capacity networks - with a forte in leveraging existing analog devices and integrating different vendor platforms. The Video Services Engineer will maintain Base-Wide Electronic Security Systems with emphasis on networking, video architecture, and application support.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, operate, install, test and troubleshoot integrated and complex electronics systems
  • Maintains Video Management System and peripherals
  • Provides insights into new products/technology
  • Create documentation for project activity audit trail
  • Collect and compile data/information for projects and presentations
  • Works with other team members to integrate systems
  • Conducts client interviews
  • Troubleshoots major issues
  • Pursues continuous learning
  • Provides on-call support to a mission-critical client

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Information Technology or 4 years’ experience in the field preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of Video Management Systems (hardware and software)
  • Experience and understanding of VMware and virtual environments
  • Must have advanced level of Genetec Security Center knowledge
  • Storage experience including iSCSI and Fiber Channel
  • General understanding of LAN/WAN/Wireless networks.
  • Excellent electronic system installation and troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrate superior analytical capability and current technical knowledge
  • Ability to interpret and work from blueprints and technical documentation
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Computer proficient- including Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to interact with others in a team environment
  • Open-minded/willing to learn – good attitude
  • Must demonstrate an ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Must pass approval procedure for IDFPR PERC
  • Must pass approval for airport badge
  • Must pass approval for Custom and Border Protection airport access
  • Required to work on-call and extra hours as needed at both O'Hare and Midway Airports
