VP of Engineering
The VP of Engineering in collaboration with the CTO and the senior Product Management leadership team—is responsible or leading all aspects of the company’s engineering processes and the evolution of the software architecture for all of Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability products in SpheraCloud. The VP of Engineering reports to the CTO.
Responsibilities
The Team
· Lead, Manage, and Grow the Engineering Team
Manage a top-flight technology team of software professionals that is responsible for the design, development, performance, security engineering, quality assurance, and ongoing maintenance of Sphera’s entire product portfolio.
· Recruit and Develop the Best Engineering Talent
Work closely with our HR organization to continually enhance our recruiting, onboarding, and training programs to support the continued rapid growth of our engineering organization.
Our Products and Architecture
· Ship High Quality Software-as-a-Service Solutions
Work closely with our Product Management organization in defining and delivering frequent and
high-quality releases in Sphera Cloud.
· Lead the Progression of Sphera’s Technology Platform
Work collaboratively with the CTO and Chief Architect in establishing the vision for Sphera’s software architecture to support the demands of today’s applications and future products. Lead the team to execute on this vision.
The Department and the Way Software is Built at Sphera
· Lead the Evolution of the Operational Model for the Department
Evolve the group’s standards, policies, procedures, key performance indicators, and organizational
structure to support activity and growth.
· Lead the Advancement of our Software Development Lifecycle
Advance and evolve our agile development process and tooling to help our teams execute on a
regular transparent cadence, stay productive, happy, motivated, and accountable to company and customer goals.
Manage Department Finances
· Work closely with our Finance team to develop and monitor departmental budgets and financial
forecasts. Be mindful of company funds, but not be afraid to invest in people and technology to evolve the department.
Qualifications:
15+ years of experience in software development
Experience working in a fast-paced growing SaaS software company
Experience managing engineering teams larger than 100 software engineers
Extensive experience with agile frameworks like SCRUM
M&A experience preferred
