We are looking for a motivated WordPress Developer who is passionate about web design and helping businesses succeed. This position is carved out of the development we currently do with outside contractors, so it represents a unique opportunity to shape the position as we fully transition the work in-house. This role is not intended for a full-stack engineer. Our ideal candidate has a mix of experience with front-end software as well as design and digital marketing, ready to jump into new page creation, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), mobile responsive design, site speed optimization, tracking, website support/maintenance and content management.

WHO SHOULD APPLY

The ideal candidate is organized, curious, detail-oriented and has an eye for visual design. As our WordPress Developer you'll use your own approach to publish and maintain both thematic and custom templates as well as some more complex solutions. Since we live in Google's world, you will be continuously optimizing our marketing web pages for mobile and desktop search visitors and obsessing about the initial experience of soon-to-be Bento customers, including accountability to all success metrics and monitoring performance. We have a fun and open environment with no silos where you will work together with other functional teams to gather requirements, communicate project status and address technical issues. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Manage and maintain bentoforbusiness.com including CMS and related components
• Build and manage microsites on other related business domains
• Customizing WordPress to support specific functionality
• Provide timely resolution to reported problems with existing website, and track process
• Work closely with internal and external resources to achieve success
• Manage projects from concept to delivery including communication, problem/solving and timelines
• Monitor site uptime and all site analytics with Google Analytics (GA) and other tools
• Integrate links and feeds from social networks
• Test all links, processes and run diagnostics on all pages, ongoing
• Embed and enhance third-party APIs and CRM integration (as needed)
• Finding and developing new technologies and methods to advance Bento's web offerings

QUALIFICATIONS

• Fluency with Javascript, CSS, HTML and Photoshop
• Experience with WordPress or similar CMS
• Ability to diagnose issues that involve cross-functional teams 
• Ability to manage WordPress plugins
• Understanding of SEO principles and application to pages 
• Proficiency with GA & tracking software like Majestic, Screaming Frog, etc.
• Solid understanding of browser and device compatibility issues and ways to work around them
• Understanding of design, layout and usability best practices
• Aptitude for complex problem analysis and resolution
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
