Position Details:
The Engineering Business Analyst is a key contributor to the successful delivery of technology products across the Grainger enterprise. The Engineering Business Analyst partners with business and engineering stakeholders to solicit requirements and execute on prioritized initiatives. Engineering Business Analysts communicate high value insights across all levels of the organization throughout the development lifecycle. The Engineering Business Analyst promotes the inclusion of modern architecture, quality, security, and automation. The Engineering Business Analyst authors and maintains system documentation and technical artifacts. The Engineering Business Analyst facilitates agile ceremonies and advocates for continuous improvement.
The Engineering Business Analyst reports to the Manager, Engineering Business Analysis.
You Will:
- Develop technical solutions to business problems by defining and documenting requirements.
- Facilitate requirements gathering sessions to aid product and portfolio partners in exposing and explaining their needs.
- Retrieve and aggregate information from multiple sources and compile it into a clear and applicable format.
- Contribute to tactical planning discussions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and influence decisions.
- Write, refine, and maintain user stories, identify dependencies, and ensure integrity across projects.
- Write and validate acceptance criteria.
- Define and perform functional configurations.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies.
- Create and maintain process flows, system documentation, and technical artifacts.
- Develop scaled, automated, user-friendly reports and dashboards to visualize current state and identify gaps.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives based on measurable, data driven metrics.
You Have:
- BA/BS in Business, Computer Science, Finance, or related field
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience in a business analyst, data analyst or statistical analyst role
- Deep technical expertise regarding IT systems, workflows, and data structures
- Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize multiple sources of information into action
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- The ability to work with senior business and technical stakeholders
- Experience operating in an agile context
