As a Fundamental Equity Research Analyst, you will influence trading decisions and daily positions from the trading desk. With your experience in the Financials sector, you will manage research-driven trading positions with direct PnL impact. As part of a dynamic and collaborative team, you have the opportunity to make a significant impact on Optiver’s performance while advancing your career.


What you’ll do:

You will leverage current events and your research expertise to influence the team’s trading decisions. Working closely with Traders, Researchers and Data Scientists, you will creatively solve problems and identify new trading opportunities.

As a Fundamental Equity Research Analyst, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying event-driven trade opportunities and collaborating with traders to capitalize on these opportunities, focusing on maximizing your impact on overall desk PnL.
  • Performing scenario analysis for relevant upcoming events, analyzing time-sensitive headlines for companies within your coverage sector(s) and predicting their impact on volatility and/or stock prices.
  • Contributing to the growth of our fundamental research team by developing processes to monetize fundamentally driven trading ideas.

Who you are:

  • 3+ years of experience covering the Financials sector, with a proven track record in idea generation and investments.
  • A bachelor’s degree (CFA preferred, but not required).
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear communication skills, independent thinking and ability to collaborate effectively.
  • A strong passion for learning new techniques/skills and mentoring others.

Below is the expected base salary for this position. This is a good-faith estimate of the base pay scale for this position and offers will ultimately be determined based on experience, education, skill set, and performance in the interview process. This position will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus (if determined by Optiver) and Optiver’s benefits package with the benefits listed above.

$175,000$175,000 USD
