Position Description:
The Accounting & Administrative Services Manager plays an important role at NowPow by ensuring the smooth functioning of NowPow’s day-to-day operations. This Manager will act as the primary liaison between NowPow’s internal finance department and the Company’s external accounting firm. This position is primarily for someone with previous bookkeeping or accounting experience who is excited to take on additional operational duties within a rapidly growing, mission-based start-up. This individual will collaborate with NowPow’s senior leadership, manage the company’s executive calendar, oversee revenue & expense tracking, and assist NowPow’s Finance Director with financial modeling, business metrics reporting, and other key operational duties. Additionally, the Accounting & Administrative Services Manager will function as the CEO’s executive assistant.
Responsibilities:
- Execute on all monthly Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable tasks to ensure NowPow’s invoicing and billing procedures are carried out accurately and on-time
- Interact with NowPow’s external accounting team to assist with proper accounting of deferred revenue and prepaid expenses
- Monitor AR / AP aging summaries, working directly with NowPow’s customers and vendors to ensure timely payment of all outstanding obligations
- Manage NowPow’s CEO’s executive calendar and coordination of NowPow events
- Maintain NowPow’s financial models, including revenue forecasts, projection analyses, business metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Perform office management functions, including maintaining office supplies inventory, managing cleaning services, new employee on-boarding tasks and interacting with building management and services
- Maintain a strong understanding of NowPow’s customer and vendor agreements, to understand their implications on NowPow’s financial statements and key business metrics
Qualifications:
Required
- Previous bookkeeping, accounting and/or operational experience
- Strong working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Able to adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines
- Comfort working in a start-up environment
- Extremely detail-oriented with outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent multi-tasking; staying organized under pressure and the ability to reprioritize daily
- Can-do, positive attitude when it comes to taking on new or unfamiliar challenges
- The ability to be candid and forthright and conduct oneself with maturity and integrity in all situations
- Engaging attitude and willingness to work on a dynamic mixture of tasks no matter how big or small
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision and strong record of accomplishment of setting and meeting delivery commitments
