Accounting Analyst
Shiftgig is looking for an Accounting Analyst to join the accounting team. We’re looking for someone who has experience performing a variety of bookkeeping and general accounting functions according to established policies and procedures. This person will also maintain contact with clients, vendors, and other members of staff, including but not limited to the appropriate client account manager.
Job Duties
Utilizes computerized accounting software programs (CMS, Excel, Word) to perform duties and responsibilities.
Utilize various negotiation techniques and strategies to negotiate and collect payments and settlements on delinquent accounts.
Provide customers with options to bring their account current in a professional manner.
Make a high volume of outbound calls and take high volume of inbound collection-related calls.
Accurately input and record all collections activities into NetSuite.
Resolve and reconcile customer disputes, discrepancies, short-payments, and refunds while providing outstanding customer service.
Develop and maintain productive relationships with internal and external customers.
Deposits cash receipts on a daily basis and ensures receipts are applied to appropriate invoices.
Prepares the open receivables report on a weekly basis and proactively corresponds with clients regarding past-due invoices to ensure payment is submitted.
Serve as the main point of contact for Accounts Payable Operations, with a focus on daily monitoring of the Shiftgig AP inbox, addressing time sensitive inquiries, resolving account issues, and providing exceptional customer service
Ensure accurate and timely processing of vendor payables in accordance with corporate policies, internal controls and applicable vendor terms, including proper classification of expenses within the chart of accounts and management reporting structure.
Assist with accruals process and complete monthly reconciliation of Accounts Payables and Accrued Liabilities to the general ledger
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
2+ years of Accounting or Finance classes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Ability to listen, communicate (written and verbal), excellent grammar, spelling and proofreading skills and follow-up effectively with all staffing levels and clients/customers.
Ability to multitask, prioritize and work efficiently.
Ability to work within a fast-paced environment.
Ability to have some flexibility with work schedule, as required.
Excellent technical and analytical skills.
Excellent spoken and verbal communicative skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience with NetSuite
Prior collection and accounts payable experience
