Dynamics of the Role

As an Internal Audit Analyst you will have the opportunity to learn about the systems, products, strategies, and people at TransUnion in relation to how the internal control framework operates over financial reporting processes.  The Internal Audit Analyst supports the audit cycle in performing audit engagements throughout the organization by participating on an audit team or individually under the direction of Internal Audit Department management.  Staff Auditors participate in the preliminary planning, audit execution, and reporting on all audit engagements.  In addition, the Internal Audit Analyst works with the manager in developing risk mitigation strategies and promoting compliance with policies, standard operating procedures, and best practices.

 

The Team’s Focus

Internal Audit provides assurance services regarding internal control systems to TransUnion management and the Audit Committee. Our team brings a systematic, disciplined approach to auditing financial reporting controls, operational processes, IT and IT security and compliance to laws and regulations. Committed to integrity and accountability, Internal Audit provides value as an objective source of independent advice. The team often partners with Information Security, Legal and Compliance in matters of corporate governance.  Team members have the opportunity to participate in the Institute of Internal Auditors, partner with other organizations on best practices and mentor new employees. How You’ll Contribute:

 

  • Prior to and during each audit, become familiar with the business processes. Based on established audit scope and objectives, identify and document the key control objectives and develop the necessary audit test procedures at the direction of Internal Audit management.
  • Perform audit test procedures for assigned audits at direction of Internal Audit management.
  • Document the results of audit procedures performed within audit workpapers that support the conclusions reached.
  • Assist in preparing written audit reports on the adequacy and effectiveness of controls evaluated.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Acquire auditing knowledge through self-study and guidance of Internal Audit management.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Certification of CPA or CIA is preferred, but not required
  • 1-3 years of public accounting auditing or relevant internal audit experience is preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work as a member of a high performing team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive focused personality and winning attitude
  • Ability to understand complex financial accounting systems and processes
  • Proven GAAP, PCAOB, and COSO knowledge
  • Ability to focus on details without losing sight of audit objectives
