Role:

The Accounting Manager position is a critical and highly visible role, reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager. This role will expose the employee to the formative phase of an emerging business. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to, ownership and management of many key financial processes of the company. You will oversee and manage accounting processes such as leading a timely and accurate month end financial close, weekly cash flow management, balance sheet reconciliation and reporting, the day-to-day accounting, and leading and coordinating the annual External Audit. This person would execute the transition to IFRS and ensure Vital Proteins’ follows Internal Accounting Policies. Process improvements expected from this position are to condense the closing schedule, establish daily and weekly report outs and create monitoring of internal controls.

What you will be responsible for:

• Leading monthly financial close process, including preparation of trial balance
• Oversee and manage a team of staff and senior accountant level direct reports
• Manage treasury function (bank reconciliations, payment runs, cash flow reporting, etc)
• Owning preparation of Vital Protein’s Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements
• Proactively working to maximize efficiencies and establish scalable financial solutions
• Review and approve bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Overseeing tax process as well as other local and federal reporting requirements
• Overseeing Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable process
• Researching and implementing process or system improvements for accounting and reporting changes
• Participate in ERP transition to SAP

Who you are:

• You have a Bachelors Degree in accounting or business administration
• You have 5-7 years previous experience in an accounting or finance roles, preferably with a growing company
• You are comfortable in a quickly changing environment, able to adapt and learn new tasks independently
• SAP experience is required
• IFRS experience preferred
• You have qualified knowledge of accounting principles, accrual accounting, inventory, cost of goods sold, etc;
• You are self-motivated and directed, with exceptional attention to detail as well as multi-task;
• You are motivated, adaptable and able to work independently
• You have a history of demonstrated problem solving & negotiation skills
• You have excellent verbal, written and grammatical communication skills
• You have a strong personal interest in health and wellness, fitness, or beauty
• Must be able to read, write and understand English
