As the Accounting Manager, your responsibilities will touch many different areas of our business and you will have the chance to apply your experience and judgement to new situations and critical responsibilities. How your role contributes to the success of Vivid Seats:
- Ensures accurate completion of complex monthly reconciliations.
- Supervises and supports accounting team members with critical day-to-day processes.
- Coordinates with other leaders to provide excellent support and gather required information.
- Drives the continued maturation and improvement of our accounting function.
How your role expectations will progress as Accounting Manager in the first 30, 90, and 180 days:
30 days in
- Acclimate to Vivid Seats’ values and organizational goals to understand how your department drives initiatives forward.
- Understand your teams’ contributions and the needs of stakeholders that rely on your deliverables to bring business objectives to life.
- Set weekly touch points with direct reports to understand their role, motivations, and needs, building trust and leading with empathy.
- Master accounting policies and practices specific to Vivid Seats’ business.
90 days in
- Empower and coach team members to achieve personal and functional goals that correlate to department objectives.
- Develop and lead initiatives for your team that enhance process, drive innovation, and build on Vivid Seats values.
- Provide suggestions for improvement of existing departmental processes.
- Become familiar with departmental software systems and contribute to ongoing enhancement.
180 days in
- Monitor and evolve team deliverables, individual goals, and overall performance to ensure alignment with broader initiatives of your department and the organization while coaching your team to grow skill sets.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to confirm accurate prioritization and refine processes for collaboration and best practices.
- Meaningfully contribute to department roadmap exercises that balance current needs with future strategic initiatives.
- Independently oversee delivery of a portfolio of critical components of the month end close cycle.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for all department members and provide relevant training and mentorship.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting. Masters degree or CPA license preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in challenging accounting roles.
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles and demonstrated application to complex situations.
- Desire to supervise and mentor others.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfort working with various stakeholders, including those outside of accounting and finance.
- Intrinsic desire to complete challenging tasks accurately and timely.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
