The Role

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the company's day-to-day financial activities and accounting operations. 

The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced environment embracing innovation and continuously improving. S/he will have a keen attention to detail and the ability to take ideas from concept to execution. We're looking for a self-starter who learns quickly, loves technology, and has proven problem-solving and people skills.

What You’ll Do

  • General accounting, including accounts payable and receivable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing and fixed asset records
  • Manage, monitor and report cash flow
  • Maintain chart of accounts
  • Ensure timely closing of books on a monthly, quarterly, and annual bases
  • Timely and accurate production of financial reports that comply with GAAP
  • Ensure company compliance with all state and federal regulations and tax filings
  • Coordinate with third-party tax filing preparers 
  • Maintain and refine a set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk
  • Collect, reconcile and reimburse employee expenses
  • Reconcile bank accounts
  • Accurately and productively complete day-to-day activities

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Three to five years experience in a similar role 
  • Highly proficient in Quickbooks
  • Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP, SUMIF, pivot tables, etc.
  • Current knowledge of GAAP
  • CPA or actively pursuing
  • Basic tax knowledge
  • Ideally has an interest in financial markets, investing or trading
  • Exemplary communication skills with the desire to build interpersonal relationships
  • Proactive problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify issues and generate solutions
  • Outstanding organizational abilities
  • Thrives working independently and taking ownership of the role
  • A high attention to detail
  • Sound judgment and maturity while managing confidential information with the utmost discretion, respect and care
  • Willingness to complete other tasks when requested, and play an active role in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
