What You'll Bring
This position will support the Diversified Markets business, comprised of the Services business, Technology, Retail, and Entertainment business, Communications business, 3rd Party Collections business, and Tenant and Employment business.
This position with report directly to the Manager of Diversified Markets FP&A and specifically support the collections business. Responsibilities will include various financial and business support functions, which consist of preparing various financial analyses, participating in the budgeting and forecasting process, and assisting the business with ad-hoc requests and special projects.
The position will primarily interact with finance team members within Diversified Markets FP&A, with interaction with the businesses the team supports, including VPs within the business, as well as some exposure to executive-level management within the Diversified Markets vertical.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and ability to apply key accounting and finance principles
3-5 years of direct experience in a professional accounting or finance capacity
Strong analytic and technical skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office products, Hyperion, and PeopleSoft; working knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) tools a plus (e.g. Alteryx,Tableau)
Strong communication skills and experience working directly with business leaders
Able to prioritize work for yourself
Solid verbal, written and presentation skills, display strong attention to detail and have the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with internal and external contacts
Ability to communicate with senior management within finance and the business unit. Able to run and conduct cross-functional meetings
Capable of providing insights into trends and relationships, as well as causation
Able to deal with ambiguity, multitask, and manage complex ad hoc requests with cross functional teams
Impact You'll Make
The US Markets Accounting and Finance team partners with the US Markets and Global Technology business to provide financial insight into business performance while helping inform and support decision-making processes. Activities include reporting key business performance indicators; strategic planning; annual budgeting and forecasting; variance analysis and the preparation of executive reports and presentations.
Members of the team regularly collaborate with and advise top-level executives within the business organization, gaining in-depth exposure to the operation and performance of the business. Associates have strong planning and analytical skills, GAAP knowledge, the ability to interpret and clearly explain data to non-Finance leadership and enjoy ongoing opportunities to support the business and improve business performance.
Support/assist in the preparation of the monthly close, quarterly forecast, and annual budget cycle through the preparation of a range of reporting and analysis, and communicates results to supervisor and various internal stakeholders, as assigned
Assists in preparation, maintenance, and operational aspects of financial planning and forecasting as it relates to trended results
Communicate financial performance to respective business owners
Support respective business owners by researching questions and investigating meaningful variances on financial statements, writing associated, basic commentary
Prepare ad-hoc reports and assist in special projects, focused on improving forecasting accuracy and providing additional business insight
Owns processes and is accountable for ensuring policies remain current. Able to implement new processes across multiple end users
