Accounts Payable Supervisor
Position Overview
As part of the Accounts Payable department, you will be responsible for supervising a group of 6-8 accounts payable coordinators and monitor their day to day operations to meet the department standards and goals. Major responsibilities of this position include communicating individual roles and responsibilities, monitor and evaluate team performance, invoice resolution and maintaining relationships with internal and external vendors. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, continuously seeking ways to improve the team’s performance as well as the achieve departmental goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead contact point overseeing a group of AP TL Coordinators
- Ensure Carrier Invoices in Review and Factoring Company agings are being worked in a timely manner
- Confirm employees are communicating workload to their assigned Carrier Sales pods and assisting with resolution
- Assist with workload distribution across team
- Lead escalation point for carrier sales communication
- Lead escalation point for partner carriers
- Escalate billing issues to manager
- Assist in creation of new Tableau reporting workbooks and Kapow robots for automation
- Ensure department metrics align with department standards
- Monitoring team productivity and providing constructive feedback and coaching
- Prepare and submit performance reviews
- Onboarding and training of new employees
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training or experience
- Minimum of 5yrs of high-volume A/P experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong ability for personal interaction
- Demonstrate leadership and decision making ability
- Proven take charge performer who is effective at multi-tasking
- Dependable and accountable
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
- Displays a positive attitude and supports department initiatives
- Flexible to evolve as department and company initiatives change
- Experience using Great Plains accounting software is a plus
