AR & AP Clerk
Neighborhoods.com is looking for a Part-Time Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Clerk who is responsible for collecting revenue and paying invoices by verifying and recording receivables and payables transactions. This person will be detail orientated, self-motivated, outgoing, and driven by personal success. This role will support our finance department, while maintaining and enhancing established processes and procedures that properly track, account and report the company transactions.
What You’ll Be Doing as an AR & AP Clerk:
- Handle daily AR and AP transactions
- Pay invoices by verifying transaction information; schedule and prepare disbursements; obtain authorization of payment
- Obtain revenue by verifying transaction information; prepare and mail invoices; identify delinquent accounts and insufficient payments
- Collect revenue by reminding delinquent accounts; compute referral fee and refunds; notify agents of insufficient or incorrect payments; must be comfortable making collection calls
- Maintain accounting ledgers by posting account transactions
- Resolve account discrepancies by investigating documentation; issue stop payments, payments, or adjustments
- Maintain financial security by following internal accounting controls
- Secure financial information by completing database backups
- Maintain financial historical records by filing accounting documents
- Help with other ad hoc projects
Education and Experience
- 2+ years of general accounting or bookkeeping experience, required
- Excellent Excel skills required
- Ability to multi-tasking required
- Highly motivated, self-directed, able to work independently
- Adapts and thrives in a demanding, start-up, fast-paced environment
