Role Description:

The Associate will immediately become an important contributor to the Oak Street Health Finance team. The ideal candidate will have strong relationship skills, be self-directed, and enjoy working with a team in a fast-paced startup environment, while bringing their experience and innovative ideas.

Core Responsibilities:

Health Plan Operations:

  • Work closely with Oak Street's health plan partners to reconcile financial performance data on a regular basis
  • Manage monthly business performance assessment and support analysis of health plan value-based contracts
  • Support day-to-day financial processes, including (but not limited to) revenue & cost recognition and decomposition, setting and measuring ongoing and project-based budgets, measuring ROI, etc.
  • Assist with cash flow projections related to health plan value-based contracts and ensure accurate collection of funds related to current performance
  • Work closely with the business intelligence team to validate and ensure accuracy of health plan data files
  • Collaborate with managed care operations and contracting teams in developing value-based contracting arrangements with health plans
  • Partner with regional leaders and other internal stakeholders to better understand and shape drivers of business performance

Financial Planning and Forecasting:

  • Work with cross-functional teams to collect, validate, and analyze data to support ongoing reporting needs and identify areas for operational improvement
  • Assist in the annual budgeting program
  • Develop, maintain, and improve key elements of Oak Street's financial and operational reporting program
  • Provide analytical leadership for long-range financial modeling and forecasting
  • Develop analysis/tools to track and better understand the underlying drivers of Oak Street's business performance
  • Structure complex issues to develop compelling, insightful recommendations for Oak Street's executive team and Board of Directors
  • Provide support for financial modeling, forecasting, and other ad hoc analytical needs
  • Other duties, as assigned

What are we looking for?

Specific qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's Degree; Finance, Accounting, Economics or related quantitative field preferred
  • Early-stage company and/or healthcare experience a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to independently pursue and implement solutions to complex problems
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel; experience with other financial and analytical applications a plus (e.g., SQL, Alteryx)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to be personable yet persistent
  • High level of individual initiative
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • US work authorization
