Department OverviewCorporate Audit performs audits and assurance activities for Motorola Solution Inc.’s global operations. Audits include strategic, operational, financial, and compliance. Reporting to the CFO and Audit Committee Chair, this organization is responsible for establishing and executing the audit plan, facilitating the annual enterprise risk management (ERM) update, and driving activities that enhance the overall risk management environment. In addition, Audit is considered a key source of talent to the overall finance organization, making recruiting, talent development, and staff rotations a fundamental area of focus.
Job Description
Lead organization-wide financial, operational, and strategic audits and risk assessments: determine audit scope, manage scope throughout the audit engagement, review work papers / test results of the audit team, communicate results to business and write the audit report
Work closely with the audit director or senior manager throughout audit engagements to ensure project scope and objectives alignment
Manage the audit team, providing effective feedback, coaching, and mentoring as needed
Contribute to business-critical advisory-based projects and audit engagements sponsored by senior leadership utilizing various analytical and improvement techniques
Facilitate change and process improvement by offering value-added recommendations
Serve as a catalyst to share best practices and drive process improvements
Work effectively as part of a motivated, diverse, and high-energy team
As this is a pipeline position, the candidate should aspire to rotate to other areas within the company within approximately two years
Some international travel required
Preferred Skills:
CPA preferred; CIA or CISA a plus
An MBA or similar advanced degree is a plus
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of GAAP and AICPA Audit and Attest standards
A strong understanding of accounting and controls is essential
Excellent communications, leadership, critical thinking, analytics, strategic business knowledge, and knowledge of processes and systems are vital qualities
Willing to travel (can range between 10-40% based on economic variables and level of willingness)
Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or other related areas of study
5+ years of audit, finance, or accounting experience
